On behalf of the Chief Minister, Dr. David Moinina Sengeh, Mohamed Lamin, Personal Assistant to the Chief Minister, bid farewell to twenty (20) Sierra Leoneans departing for China to participate in a Governance Capacity Building Seminar.
The three-week training program, recommended by the Chief Minister, is part of the government’s broader effort to strengthen governance systems and leadership capacity within the public sector. The initiative aligns with President Julius Maada Bio’s Human Capital Development and Public Sector Reform Agenda, aimed at building competent, ethical, and results-driven public servants.
The seminar is organized by the University of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (UCASS), affiliated with the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS)China’s highest academic institution and comprehensive research center for humanities and social sciences. Established from the integration of the Graduate School of CASS and the China Institute of Youth and Politics, UCASS has, over the past 40 years, trained a large number of professionals who have contributed significantly to economic growth, academic research, and social development.
Since 2009, UCASS has organized over 130 international training programs, including 27 sponsored by CASS, leveraging its robust think-tank resources and strong research capabilities to promote global knowledge exchange and governance excellence.
In his remarks, Mr. Lamin congratulated the participants for their selection and urged them to represent Sierra Leone with pride, professionalism, and integrity. He emphasized that such opportunities reflect the government’s commitment to empowering citizens at all levels particularly from the grassroots to contribute meaningfully to national progress.
Speaking on behalf of the participants, Bockarie Wilson expressed gratitude to His Excellency President Julius Maada Bio and the Chief Minister, Dr. David Moinina Sengeh, for their continued commitment to capacity building and inclusive governance.
