$3,000 Car Fraud …Man, to Face High Court

Abdul Kamara has been ordered to stand trial at the High Court following allegation of fraudulent conversion. Mr. Kamara was arrested on 2, September 2025, after he allegedly misappropriated a vehicle entrusted to him for sale.

According to court documents, the incident took place in January at Pyke Street, Freetown, where Kamara was reportedly given a Nissan Rogue, valued at $3,000 (approximately 72,000 Leones), by Patrick Come. The vehicle was entrusted to him strictly for the purpose of sale, but the prosecution alleges Kamara instead converted it for his own personal use and benefit.

The lead Prosecutor of the matter CPC 12090 Bangura Z. presented two key witnesses in court, both of them provided strong evidence against the accused. During the preliminary proceedings before Magistrate Soa Mamakoh Betty Kallon, no plea was taken from Kamara. As a result, he was ordered to stand trial at the High Court to answer to the charge of fraudulent conversion, a violation of Section 20(1)(a) of the Larceny Act of 1916. The case is expected to be heard in the coming months.
