On Tuesday, during the government’s weekly press conference at the Youyi Building, Minister of Health, Dr. Austin Demby, announced the launch of a new online recruitment portal for 3,000 health workers. He assured citizens that the process will be transparent, fair, and free of political interference, encouraging applicants to apply directly via www.recruitment.mohs.gov.sl.
Highlighting progress in the health sector, Dr. Demby reported a 76% reduction in maternal mortality, the fastest decline recorded globally, alongside a vaccination coverage rate above 95% achieved over the past five years.
On disease control, he noted a significant breakthrough in the fight against Mpox, with daily cases dropping from nearly 200 to single digits, a success he credited to effective interventions and public cooperation.
