The first award, Environmental Lecturer of the Year (November 2024), was conferred on Lawyer Dumbuya by Shout Climate Change Africa in collaboration with the Freetown City Council (FCC). The honor acknowledges his tireless efforts in promoting environmental education and sustainable development. This award was officially presented to him by the Honorable Deputy Minister of Environment and Climate Change, underscoring the significance of his work in addressing pressing climate and environmental challenges in Sierra Leone.
The second accolade, a Human Rights Award (December 2024), was granted by the Human Rights Commission of Sierra Leone (HRCSL) during the commemoration of their 20th Anniversary. This award recognized Lawyer Dumbuya’s impactful contributions to human rights advocacy, particularly his efforts to empower marginalized groups and uphold justice in Sierra Leone. Commissioner Simite Lavaly of the HRCSL presented the award, further affirming the critical role Dumbuya plays in the human rights landscape of the country.
