Criminal Cartel Expose… Orange Syphons Customers Credit

It was a tragic ordeal for David Jakima Brima on Wednesday 21st May, 2025 when he purchased airtime credit worth Le20 from his Orange Money account but has yet to receive it.

Mr. Brima reported the issue multiple times to Orange’s customer care. One representative admitted that the company was experiencing technical problems and assured him that once the issue was resolved, his credit would be restored. Despite repeated attempts to recover his money, Mr. Brima’s efforts have so far been unsuccessful.

In recent weeks, Orange Mobile has also come under public scrutiny for increasing the price of its weekly data bundle from Le70 to Le100 without notifying its subscribers-a move that has caused frustration among many customers in Sierra Leone, especially in Freetown.

There have been growing allegations that Orange Mobile is manipulating its IT systems to deduct airtime credit from customers without their knowledge, amassing millions of Leones illegally within seconds or minutes. Such practices have raised concerns about the company’s integrity and commitment to its customers.

Orange Mobile only prioritizes profit over consumer rights, engaging in practices that amount to extortion-a serious crime that has yet to prompt action from relevant authorities.

Several attempts have been made to speak with the company’s communications department, but all were unsuccessful.
