The National Revenue Authority (NRA) has officially terminated the employment of Mr. Abu Kamara, former Manager of the Finance and Budget Department, following his failure to cooperate with an ongoing investigation into a major tax fraud allegation.
According to a statement issued by the Authority, Mr. Kamara (PF: 1282) is suspected of colluding with employees of commercial banks and other individuals in the alleged diversion of taxes and duties paid at the Customs Services Department.
Despite multiple summons from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Mr. Kamara has reportedly not presented himself for questioning and has remained out of contact with the NRA for over twelve working days. As a result, and in accordance with Article 10.4 of the revised NRA Terms and Conditions of Service, his employment was officially terminated on June 24, 2025.
The NRA has warned all government agencies, financial institutions, and members of the public to avoid engaging in any official business with Mr. Kamara, as he no longer represents the Authority in any capacity. Any such dealings will be considered unauthorized and invalid.
The Authority emphasized its commitment to integrity, transparency, and accountability in public service and confirmed it will continue working closely with the CID to bring the matter to a lawful conclusion.
