The newly elected Deputy National Chairman of the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP), Robert Kondema Kargbo, has expressed profound appreciation to key figures within the party and the national leadership for their support in his rise to one of the party’s highest offices.
In a public statement following his election, Kargbo extended heartfelt thanks to Her Excellency the First Lady, Dr. Fatima Maada Bio, praising her as a pillar of strength and a major source of inspiration throughout his political journey.
“I owe a debt of heartfelt gratitude to a woman whose impact on my life and political career cannot be measured. Her Excellency Dr. Fatima Maada Bio has been like a mother, aunt, sister, and guide to me,” Kargbo said. “Her unwavering belief in young leaders like myself, her courage, resilience, and grace under pressure continue to inspire a new generation of political actors.”
Kargbo also lauded His Excellency President Dr. Julius Maada Bio, Leader of the SLPP, for fostering a political environment that encourages youth participation and leadership development.
“Mr. President, thank you for creating the space for young leaders to emerge. I am a living testimony of that vision,” he stated.
The newly elected Deputy National Chairman went on to thank his campaign team, supporters, and the broader SLPP family, crediting their unwavering dedication for the success of his campaign. “To my campaign team you walked through villages, towns, and cities under sun and rain. This victory belongs to you. You are more than a team; you are family.”
He also acknowledged the role of the media and SLPP-affiliated bloggers, recognizing their efforts in amplifying his message and mobilizing support across digital platforms. “Your creativity, consistency, and digital energy turned our campaign into a movement. I am forever grateful,” he noted.
In addressing the SLPP delegates who cast their votes in his favor, Kargbo emphasized his readiness to serve. “Your votes were not just ballots they were statements of confidence. I do not take this mandate lightly. I am here to serve, to unite, and to lead with purpose.”
Kargbo pledged to work closely with the newly elected Chairman, Jimmy Batilo Songa, and the rest of the executive to secure a party victory in the 2028 elections. He concluded with a call for unity and dedication among party supporters, expressing optimism for the future of the SLPP and the nation.
