The Paramount Chief of Sambaia Chiefdom in Tonkolili District, PC Alhaji Musa Bamba Foray Kulio Jalloh III, has officially endorsed and signed a landmark Land Lease Agreement between the Minerals Wealth Fund, through the Sierra Leone Mines and Minerals Development and Management Corporation (SLMMDMC), and his people. The agreement, which carries an annual surface rent of US$118,000, marks a significant milestone for both the corporation and the chiefdom.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, PC Jalloh III emphasized his full support for initiatives endorsed by President Julius Maada Bio. He stressed that the land belongs to the people and must bring them direct benefits.
PC Jalloh III expressed optimism that the minerals at Kasafoni would make Sambaia Chiefdom prosperous.
On behalf of SLMMDMC, the Minister of Finance, Sheku Fantamandi Bangura, reaffirmed the government’s commitment to delivering tangible benefits to Sambaia Chiefdom while promoting responsible mining practices. He further assured the chefdom people that their road project would be prioritized by the government as part of the ongoing development in the country.
