A concerned Sierra Leonean has written to the Inspector General of Police, calling for urgent and decisive action following recent armed robbery attacks in Kenema and Bo, including the brutal killing of Reverend Father Augustine Amadeus in Kenema.
In the letter dated August 30, 2025, the citizen expressed deep concern and condemnation over the incidents, describing them as shocking acts of violence that have left communities in fear.
The writer urged the Sierra Leone Police to conduct a thorough and swift investigation into the murder of Rev. Father Amadeus and the armed attack on the NASSIT manager in Bo, ensuring that perpetrators are swiftly brought to justice.
The letter also called for an increased police presence in vulnerable areas, particularly along highways and within communities, to deter further attacks. In addition, the citizen appealed for stronger collaboration between security agencies and local communities to improve intelligence gathering and crime prevention.
“The security sector’s prompt and effective response to these incidents is crucial in restoring peace and security in Kenema and Bo,” the letter emphasized.
The plea comes as residents of both towns continue to express fear and outrage over the rising spate of violent crimes in their communities.
