One of the leading APC flagbearer aspirants, Dr. Ibrahim Bangura, on 15 November 2015 paid a remarkable visit to Bassa Town in Waterloo, Western Rural District. His visit formed part of his ongoing nationwide outreach to spread the message of the Dr. Ibrahim Bangura (DIB) Movement an initiative grounded in the pillars of Heal, Build and Unite.

The overwhelming turnout and spirited enthusiasm from the people of Waterloo underscored the deep admiration and support Dr. Bangura continues to enjoy. From every corner of the field, energetic chants, loud cheers and joyful celebrations filled the air. Dressed in their brightest red and white, supporters waved banners of hope as thousands united in a shared purpose. The atmosphere was electrifying a clear reflection of the community’s belief in Dr. Bangura’s vision.
Addressing the excited crowd, Dr. Bangura reaffirmed his confidence in the DIB Movement, describing it as a formidable force destined for success. He boldly stated that the movement was well positioned to produce the APC flagbearer in 2026 and ultimately the President of Sierra Leone in 2028. He emphasised that his ambition was not merely about becoming flagbearer, but about fostering collective leadership and working hand-in-hand with all stakeholders to move the party and the country forward.

Dr. Bangura highlighted his youthful energy and drive, noting that he is committed to leaving a meaningful legacy, much like former President Ernest Bai Koroma. He expressed heartfelt appreciation to the former president and acknowledged the current leadership of the All People’s Congress (APC) for their continuous guidance and service.
He recognised the challenges the party is facing and offered prayers for Chairman Hon. Minkailu Mansaray, asking God to grant him a speedy recovery. He also extended prayers to the rest of the APC executive for strength, wisdom and steadfastness.
Reassuring supporters, Dr. Bangura stated that he maintains good relations with all aspirants, stressing that his focus remains on healing divisions, fostering unity and building a stronger APC. He urged the public to remember his name: Ibrahim Bangura a friend of God, a loyal servant of the APC, and a proud son of Sierra Leone. He pledged to ensure that the efforts and sacrifices of the people will never be in vain.
Dr. Bangura further promised close collaboration with the APC executive members of Bassa Town and reiterated that the DIB Movement stands as one of the strongest and most determined forces committed to returning the APC to governance in the next general elections.
