The Klymax Breed Foundation on Saturday 23rd May 2026 presented various food items worth over 25 thousand new Leones to the Milton Margai School for the Blind on Wilkinson Road in Freetown.
Presenting the food items that include 10 bags of 50 kilogram rice, satchets of water, 3 bags of onions, powedered milk, launheon meat, tin tomatoes, the Program Manager of Kylmax Breed Foundation, Mr. Akiwumi Benjamin said they responded tothe Headmaster’s appeal for support.
Earlier in his welcome statement, the Headmaster of the Milton Margai School for the Blind, Mr. Sallieu Turay on behalf of staff and pupils disclosed that the 70 year old school provides education for the visually impaired children and that over the years it has contributed immensely to the development of Sierra Leone.
He went on to assure that the school and the organisation would always live like a family adding that the organisation recently visited the school to make arrangements for the donation that would create impact in the lives of the pupils reiterating that the items would be utilised for their intended purpose and affirmed that the items are essential for the welfare of pupils who eat three times a day.
He also informed that the pupils attend various secondary schools in Freetown, that they utilise 50 litres of fuel daily and appealed for more support from other well wishers and organizations.
According to the Headmaster, the organisation would be part of the school’s 70th year anniversary, underlining that the school has produced many prominent citizens in society inspite of the many challenges it is going through.
Alhaji Sanusi Bah of Klymax Breed Organisation informed that the organization was established in 2024 but existed before that, is a registered company and is made up of past and present students of Fourah Bay College and furthered that they are giving back to society.
He also recalled the appeal made by the Headmaster of the school in various radio stations for support and assured that the donation would not be the end as well as the relationship with the school reiterating that such donations would continue yearly.
Mr. David Williams, who chaired the program, asserted that the donation is not a coincidence and congratulated the school on its 70th birthday.
Highlights of the well-attended event were the official handing over of the food items to the Headmaster of the school, prayers, singing of the School Song, National Pledge and special rendition titled ‘It is only the beginning of our love.’
