Africell and Afrimoney Sierra Leone have donated Le150,000 to East End Lions FC as the club prepares to represent Sierra Leone in the 2026/27 CAF Confederation Cup.
The financial support was presented today, August 18, 2026, as the club intensifies preparations for its continental campaign.
Speaking at the presentation, Afrimoney Chief Executive Officer Martison Obeng-Agyei reaffirmed the company’s commitment to sports development in Sierra Leone.
“Afrimoney and Africell see sports as a key avenue for empowering young people and promoting Sierra Leone’s image beyond our borders. We will continue to support initiatives that grow the country’s sporting sector,” he said.
Mr. Obeng-Agyei added that Africell and Afrimoney will support East End Lions throughout the competition and urged the players to remain focused, disciplined, and determined as they represent both the club and the nation on the continental stage.
Also present were Africell Sierra Leone CEO Mr. Shadi Gerjawi and staff of both companies.
Receiving the donation on behalf of the club, East End Lions Secretary General Alpha Jalloh Esq. expressed appreciation for the continued partnership.
“This support will help us cover key expenses for our CAF campaign, including travel, accommodation, venue arrangements, and other logistics,” Mr. Jalloh said.
With the first-leg fixture scheduled for Abidjan and the return leg expected at the SKD Stadium in Liberia, the Secretary General noted that the support had come at a crucial time.
He described the partnership with Africell and Afrimoney as vital as East End Lions prepares to compete at a higher level of African club football.
East End Lions will now look to make a strong impression in the 2026/27 CAF Confederation Cup and proudly fly the flag of Sierra Leone.
