A remarkable and an incredible event in the history of Sierra Leone Police has become one of the top-notch legacies of the Inspector General of Police, Mr William Fayiah Sellu.  A worldwide treasure that was declared in 2022 dubbed INTERNATIONAL DAY OF POLICE COOPERATION was celebrated for the first time in the country by the Police. This is a landmark achievement of the Police Service in collaboration with its international counterparts. It also aimed at enhancing international cooperation and strengthening the integrity and core values of security in the country,as well as harnessing the gains of policing worldwide.The passion that thrilled the Inspector General is in ensuring that our country maintains its national identity and improve in its core mandate of protecting life and property. Mr Fayiah Sellu being a consistently focused and results oriented leader has demonstrated maximum professionalism in the dispensation of his responsibilities and simultaneously,portrayed an unimpeachable commitment to security,critical for several structural and operational interventions as evident in the commemoration of the International day of Police Cooperation.  Many who attended the ceremony at the Bank Complex in Kingtom in Freetown,including the Minister of Internal Affairs,Rtd.AIG Mr Morrie Lengor (Esq), Mr Abdulai Caulker,National Security Coordinator, Madam Seraphine Wakana, UNDP Resident Coordinator, Mr William Sao Lamin,Chairman Civil Society Organisation Consortium,Ag.Deputy Inspector General of Police,AIG Alaji Mustapha Kamara and other diplomats and senior officers, present,attested to the fact that the experience of the Inspector General,Mr William Fayiah Sellu,has built resilience,trust and confidence among officers in the institution and added more values to their profession,in building an unequivocal sense of purpose and public trust.

His Excellency the President of the Republic of Sierra Leone,Rtd.Brigadier Julius Maada Bio,is entreated to continue his support to the institution in a bid to restore its reputation and integrity,especially at this critical period of its transformation from a Force to a Service. The Master of ceremony was Mr Umaru Fofana of BBC and AYV fame,whilst the Officer assigned with the responsibility to champion the occasion is the Director of Cooperate Affairs, CSP Brima Quinny Sesay,aka BQ
