This statement was made by Dr. Samura Mathew Wilson Kamara the APC Presidential Candidate and leader of the June 24 2023 Sierra Leone’s general elections during his 2025 new year’s message.
He added that any political leadership that overlook electoral fraud and hold on to power does not only suffocate the lives of the people, it is also holding back the prospect for national peace unity and prosperity.
According to him Sierra Leone’s economy has already collapsed, Institutional collapses, physical stress, inflation and the rising cost of leaving with a stagnating group has continuously increasing.
Dr. Samura pointed that these factors has continuously affecting the leaving condition of the people and also bordering small medium size business in the country.
Dr. Samura expressed that the rising cost of tax bordering almost all small medium size business in the country. He added that state captured and over used if excessive power and the human right violation by the current government has been so worrisome.
“The conduct of the 24 June, 2023 Multi-Tier Elections and the announcement of result that failed to reflect the will of the people and the lack of desegregated data each set the trail for my Clary On Call for electoral justice base on the tune of fairness and impartiality”, he explained.
According to him base on the conduct of the 24 June, 2023 general elections before during and after was without doubt but a state coup of no mean of propulsion and it did not only undermine the country’s democracy but denied the people of Sierra Leone their right to free fair and credible choice prefer political leaders.
According to him Sierra Leone has peaceful done to transfer of power in 2007 and 2018 following opposition election victories since the end of the civil war in 2002.
The manipulation of the 24 June, 2023 elections fully punctuated and closes these democratic windows. Dr. Samura said in these circumstances his party has looked up to the moral guarantors to support their call for electoral justice.
According to him the finding of the 84 recommendations of the Tripartite committee deliberately excluded the unresolved issue of an announcement of the election result without professor.
He stressed that Mr. Mohamed K. Konneh had deliberately refused to publish the election result to produce disaggregated elections results data by pulling stations.
He said they cannot denied or pretend not to know this unprecedented issue that occur which is killing the country’s democracy.
