A case has drawn the attention in the high court of Sierra Leone where a Forty-five (45) Years Old Mohamed Massaquoi alias Kokomani has been sentence to 100 years imprisonment by Justice Mark Ngegba of the High Court No.7 for the offense of Robbery and unlawful possession of Ak 47 fire arms without license.
The convict was arraigned before the court on four counts charges of Conspiracy to commit robber with aggravation, Robber with aggravation, Possession of arms without license and other related count charge all contrary to the laws of Sierra Leone.
According to the indictment, the convict on a date unknown between 21st and 28th July 2025 in Freetown conspired with unknown persons to commit robber with aggravation.
It was further alleged on counts two and three that the convict on the same dates in Freetown being armed with a gun robbed Mohamed Marrah and Finda Kamara one Techno spark 7 mobile phone, one Itel Mobile phone, DVD player and other assorted items all to the total value of Nle6,300.
Counts four added that the defendant on the same date was found in possession of two Ak 47 rifles without lawful authority.
When the charges were read and explained to him, he pleaded guilty on all four counts.
Given a brief fact of the matter, the state counsel A Jalloh informed the court that, the defendant on the aforementioned dates in Freetown robbed the victims Mohamed Marrah and Finda Kamara of the said items on the indictment and was also arrested with firearms and ammunition.
By virtue of his plea, he was found guilty on all four counts.
The defendant informed the court that he was on drugs when he did the act and also pleaded with the judge for mercy stating that he is a new convert Christ now.
state counsel A. Jalloh in his submission asked for a maximum sentence due to the serious nature of the offices charge further requested for the exhibit to be handed over to the Small Arms Commission for destruction.
Justice Mark Ngegba in his ruling sentence the defendant on count one which is conspiracy to 10 years imprisonment, count 2 Robber with aggravation 40, counts 3 Robber with aggravation 40 years and counts 4 possession of fire arms to 10 yrs which sum up to 100 years imprisonment and the sentence to run concurrently.
