At the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly, Sierra Leones delegation, led by President Julius Maada Bio, underscored the country’s growing role as a voice of hope, reason, and inclusion on the global stage. Speaking on the sidelines of the Assembly Chief Minister Dr. David Moinina Sengeh emphasized Sierra Leones leadership in championing Africas representation in key decision-making bodies. As Chair of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government, and Coordinator of the African Union Committee of Ten on UN Security Council Reform, President Bio has consistently elevated conversations on ensuring Africaś voice is heard in global governance, particularly on matters of peace and security. Sierra Leone has also been a strong advocate for reforming international financial institutions such as the IMF and World Bank to ensure fairness, justice, and equity for developing nations. This aligns with President Bics wider agenda of radical inclusion-advancing opportunities education, youth empowerment, and technology. During high-level meetings, including engagements with the UN Secretary-General, the President of FIFA, and global private-sector leaders at the P3 Summit, President Bio reinforced Sierra Leone’s message: Africa must be at the table were critical decisions made. He urged investors and partners that “if you are not in Africa, you are missing the boat positioning Sierra Leone as an attractive hub for partnership, innovation, and growth. These interventions reflect the governments broader vision under the “Big Five” priorities- -to ensure Sierra Leone remains a champion of equity justice, and inclusive development at home and abroad
