Dr. Ibrahim Bangura Calls for Unity in the APC

In a meeting held at 4801 Forbes Blvd, Laham, Maryland, USA, discussions centered on the reunification, solidarity, diversity, and restructuring of the APC party, as well as promoting peace and liberal democracy.

Dr. Ibrahim Bangura emphasized the importance of unity within the APC, stating that “constructive dialogue matters” for the party’s success.

He acknowledged the significance of all individuals contesting for the APC flagbearer position and expressed his commitment to reaching out to them. According to him, the process is just as important as the outcome, as only one candidate will ultimately emerge as the winner.

Dr. Bangura stressed that the APC is a family, and he urged the eventual winner to work collaboratively with all contenders. He emphasized the need for magnanimity, stating that a united party is crucial for overcoming challenges.

He advised members to consistently promote peace and unity, accept constructive criticism, and engage in dialogue. He encouraged open discussions, believing that diverse perspectives benefit both the APC and the nation.

Dr. Bangura highlighted that the party’s structure should reflect its vision for governing the country-focusing on economic growth, empowering young people, fostering national unity, and ensuring the availability of basic social services.

He lamented the dire conditions in the country, citing instances where pregnant women are transported to hospitals on motorcycles, leading to tragic outcomes. He also pointed to issues such as inconsistent electricity supply and preventable diseases, which should no longer be a reality in modern society.

Dr. Bangura further emphasized that denying people their identity, recognition, and voice leads to frustration and disengagement. He referenced past attempts to address youth issues through Ataya Bases, bridge gangs, and cliques-all of which failed-and warned that the rise of Kush is another consequence of neglecting young people.

He ended that governance is about having a constructive engagement and dialogue, advocating for solutions that would transform young lives and contribute to national development.
