Dr. Ibrahim Bangura, one of the aspiring flagbearers for the All Peoples Congress in the upcoming 2028 general elections in Sierra Leone, has commended the executive members of the party for the timely release of the lower-level elections timetable.
According to him, this is a testament to diligent effort and a steadfast commitment to the principles of internal democracy. On behalf of his team and the thousands who share in his vision, he expressed his deepest gratitude.
“As we embark on this next chapter in our party’s democratic evolution, I hereby unequivocally commit my team and I to fully and faithfully abide by the rules and regulations that will be outlined by our Party and subsequently gazetted by the Political Parties Regulation Commission (PPRC),” he explained.
He expressed that his party firmly believes in discipline, structure, and the rule of law—the foundations of sustainable leadership. He therefore called on all aspirants and their supporters to commit themselves to the spirit of respectful competition.
Dr. Ibrahim Bangura advised that they should set an example of what true democratic maturity looks like, both for their party and the nation.
He added that with deep conviction and humility, he believes he will earn the privilege to become the flagbearer of his beloved APC. “I also believe that this journey must be one of integrity and comradeship. Therefore, to my supporters across Sierra Leone: remain focused, stand tall, and carry yourselves with honour,” he explained to his supporters.
He said their campaign should be guided by hope, driven by ideas, and conducted in a spirit of mutual respect. All other aspirants are not enemies-they are always our comrade brothers and sisters.
He further stated that they should treat them with dignity, even as they seek to win the confidence of the APC family. Every attack on a fellow comrade is a gift to the others they compete with.
According to him, every internal division is an open door to those who seek to weaken them, and they must direct every ounce of their energy to win decisively and return democratically to power. This must be their collective mission, irrespective of who carries the flag.
“May God bless the APC and every step we take to reclaim victory and restore faith and hope to our beloved Sierra Leone. Let us heal, unite, and build from the ground up.”
