Forgery Scandal at Lands Ministry: Director of Surveys & Lands Warns

The Professional Head and Director of Surveys and Lands, Mr. Tamba Dauda, have issued a strong and uncompromising warning to staff within the Ministry of Lands, Housing, and Country Planning. His message comes in response to growing concerns over the forgery of official survey plans and other critical land-related documents.

Speaking firmly during a recent internal meeting, Director Dauda made it clear that any staff found guilty of forging or tampering with land documents will face the full force of the law. He emphasized that such illegal activities not only compromise the integrity of the Ministry but also damage public trust in the government’s land administration system.

“The forging of survey plans and other official documents is a serious criminal offense. We will not tolerate any act that brings disrepute to this Ministry. Anyone caught will be  handed over to the police for investigation or prosecution,” he warned.

Director Dauda also encouraged honest staff to remain committed to professionalism and integrity, and to report any suspicious activity they may encounter within the Ministry. He reaffirmed his leadership’s determination to cleanse the system of corruption and ensure that land documentation processes are transparent, lawful, and fair to all Sierra Leoneans.

This bold stance comes at a time when public complaints about fraudulent land dealings have been on the rise, with several individuals claiming to have fallen victim to fake or duplicate survey plans issued through unofficial channels.

The Ministry of Lands, Housing and Country Planning, under the leadership of Director Dauda, at the directorate of Land and survey is taking critical steps to restore accountability and public confidence in its operations.
