General Manager Appears in court

Samuel Benjamin Moiba a Sailor and Alfred Karim Koroma Sailor made another appearance before magistrate Sahr Kekura of Pademba Road Court No.1 on two counts charges to with conspiracy contrary to law and Larceny Contray to section 2 of the Larceny Act 1916

According to the particulars of offense the accused and other persons unknown on Sunday 9th February 2025 at Sir Samuel Lewis Road Aberdeen the Western area in Freetown conspired together and with other persons unknown to commit a felony to with Larceny

Count two on the same date and place the accused persons stole one black colour suit case, one grey colour Dell Computer laptop, black colour A23 Samsung mobile phone, one set hoscope and other assorted items equivalent to the total sum of one hundred and twenty four thousand eight hundred Leones (124,800) property of Doctor Sherif Emil whilst in custody of the management of Seacoach Express

When the charge was read and explained to the accused persons no plea taken.

Inspector Kadie M Taylor led in prosecution witness number one Micah Tanimu the General manager at Sea Coach and at the same time a technician he know both accused persons they are Sailors he recall on the 9th February 2025 something transfer between himself and the accused persons on the above date he received a call from the coordinator of mercy ship at around 10pm the same coordinator gave him information in respect of missing luggage he told the coordinator to exercise patient and he will get back to him

The witness said he went to the office and switched the CCTV camera on and he saw the first accused from the terminal to the car park when the first accused got to the car park with the three bags amongst the other bags and he put the alleged missing bag aside upon that he called the attention of the first accused in respect of the luggage he denied he took the first accused to the CCTV room and played the CCTV for him he watched the CCTV footage and saw himself then he confirmed to him that he is the one he asked him for the missing bag then he identified the second accused that he knows about the missing bag when he called the second accused he did not talk with him but he call the police straight away the police officer and he handed over the accused persons to them the CCTV footage was reduced into a memory stick that contains the CCTV footage was produce and tendered to form part of the court records marked as exhibit A he later made statement to the police

The accused person was represented by S. Smart Esq he cross examined the witness and renewed his previous Bail applications on behalf of the accused persons

Meanwhile Magistrate Kekura refused bail based on the seriousness of the offences charged and sent both accused persons to the male correctional facility in Freetown matter adjourned to the 11th April 2025
