Dr. Ibrahim Bangura, one of the strongest flagbearer aspirants for the All People’s Congress (APC) ahead of the 2026 national convention, has boldly said that he is “born APC.”
He made this statement while emphasizing his deep-rooted connection and lifelong commitment to the party.
According to Dr. Bangura, many of the older members within the APC have lost touch with the party’s true history. “They lack a sense of history and have easily forgotten where the party came from,” he said. He revealed that the APC party was formed in his father’s house, and even the party’s first constitution was written and compiled there during the early 1990s.
“My father has worked and suffered for this party for several years,” he explained.
Dr. Bangura began working for the APC at the young age of 15. He proudly noted that he was the first person to introduce the APC to Fourah Bay College, where he served as president of the APC Students’ Union for several years. His activism and leadership during his university years helped build a strong student support base for the party.
He spoke highly of his father, describing him as a devoted and loyal party member who played a key role in the formation and growth of the APC. Dr. Bangura emphasized that his family’s loyalty and sacrifices for the party span decades and should not be overlooked.
He acknowledged that the road to leadership is challenging, saying, “The road to success is very rough and stormy, but I will make sure our party wins the next general election.” He pledged to bring unity and fresh energy to the APC, promising to restore the party’s original vision and values.
Dr. Bangura’s unwavering dedication, resilience, and hope for a brighter future for Sierra Leone have earned him growing support across the country. In just a few months, millions of Sierra Leoneans have come to recognize his integrity, leadership potential, and genuine desire to unify the APC.
With strong grassroots support and a clear vision, Dr. Ibrahim Bangura remains one of the most promising flagbearer aspirants the APC has ever produced, ready to lead the party into the 2028 elections.
