IWPG Global Region 5 Hosts 6th PLTE Graduation Ceremony

On December 14th, 2024, the International Women’s Peace Group (IWPG) Global Region 5, under the leadership of Regional Director Su Jin Park, held the 6th Peace Lecturer Training Education (PLTE) Completion Ceremony & Guidelines for Peace Lecturer on December 14, 2024. The online event celebrated the graduation of participants from India and Africa, including the sixth batch of graduates, with around 45 attendees joining in a time of reflection and renewed commitment to the cause of peace.

As outlined in a press release dated the 27th December, 2024, IWPG’s flagship program, PLTE, is designed to foster the Cessation of War and Spread of Peace Culture. The initiative trains individuals to become peace lecturers who not only understand the essence of peace but also embody and teach it. Bhakti Maniar, a graduate from India, shared, “PLTE is a process of cultivating leaders who practice peace beyond simple education.”

The ceremony included various segments, such as a promotional video screening, graduate remarks, and certificate presentations.

In a congratulatory address, one of the graduates shared a powerful message: “Our aim is only one: to spread the message -‘We Are One.’ Let’s work together for peace and the cessation of war. As peace messengers, we can bring about significant change.”

Other graduates reflected on their transformative journeys: Agatha Sushila Anthony Dias: “This journey has been transformative, deepening my understanding of peace and equipping me with valuable tools to contribute to a harmonious world. Together, we can create a world where peace prevails.”

China Tapha: “This program deeply impacted my heart and connected me with IWPG’s values and virtues. I’ve already begun sharing what I’ve learned within my workplace and social circles, spreading the message of peace further.”

Seong Hyeon Yoon, Peace Education Manager of Global Region 5, emphasized that “PLTE is more than just an educational course; it is a stepping stone for women to grow into true peace leaders.” She encouraged graduates to shine as beacons of peace in their communities.

Regional Director Su Jin Park expressed her hopes for the graduates’ active contributions: “Your efforts, developed through the PLTE, will be the starting point for achieving peace.”
