Alhaji Mohamed Omodu Kamara popularly known as ‘Jagaban’ a prominent flag bearer aspirant of the All People’s Congress (APC), is set to fulfil part of his financial commitment to the APC Tonko Limba Executive and the people of Tonko Limba Chiefdom in Kambia District today Friday 1st August 2025. During his recent political visit to the Chiefdom, Jagaban pledged a total of $100,000 to support key community development initiatives and empower the local APC executive.
In a clear demonstration of his resolve and capacity to deliver on his promises, Jagaban will today release an initial first tranche payment of $40,000 which is equivalent to Le1, 000,000,000 old Leones. This first tranche payment included Le600, 000,000, specifically target the completion and furnishing of the newly initiated Jagaban Halls, as well as Le400, 000,000 for the launch of a microfinance scheme aimed at supporting local entrepreneurs and small businesses within Tonko Limba Chiefdom.
According to insiders close to his campaign, the remaining $60,000 will be disbursed in subsequent phases to support other priority projects agreed upon with the Tonko Limba APC executive. These include youth empowerment programmes, women’s development funds, and improvements to local social infrastructure.
Jagaban’s action is widely seen as a direct response to counter misinformation being spread by rival flag bearer aspirants within the APC, who have claimed that he would not be able to honour his commitments. His supporters argue that this payment will not only silence critics but also solidify his reputation as a trustworthy leader who backs his words with tangible action.
Residents and local stakeholders in Tonko Limba Chiefdom have welcomed the news with optimism, expressing hope that the funds will be used transparently to drive real impact. Many believe Jagaban’s fulfilment of his pledge will boost his standing in the district as the party’s flag bearer contest gains momentum ahead of the upcoming national convention
