Two sailors from Sea Coach Express, Samuel Benjamin Moiba and Alfred Abdul Karim Koroma, have been remanded in prison by Magistrate Sahr Kekura of Pademba Road Court No. 1 for allegedly stealing items worth $5,200 USD from a passenger.

The accused made their second court appearance and are facing two charges: conspiracy to commit larceny and larceny, under Section 2 of the Larceny Act 1916.

According to the prosecution, on Sunday, February 9, 2025, at Sir Samuel Lewis Road, Aberdeen, Freetown, the accused conspired with others to commit the theft. They allegedly stole a black suitcase valued at $150 USD, a gray Dell laptop, a black Samsung A23 mobile phone, and other assorted items, all belonging to Dr. Sheriff Emil Whites. The total stolen property is valued at $5,200 USD (NLe 124,800) while in the custody of Sea Coach Express management.

When the charges were read in court, no plea was taken.  Inspector Kadie Taylor, prosecuting, requested an adjournment to call witnesses. Magistrate Kekura granted the request and ordered the accused to be remanded in prison. The case has been adjourned for further proceedings.
