The people of Tonko Limba, Bramaia, and Khonimakha Chiefdoms are raising serious concerns about the deteriorating condition of the road from Kambia to Kukuna. This long-standing issue has significantly affected their daily lives and economic activities, with the situation worsening every year, particularly during the rainy season.
As the rainy season approaches, anxiety grows among the residents of these chiefdoms, fearing that the already poor road conditions will deteriorate further, making travel more difficult and dangerous. The road is a critical lifeline for these communities, providing essential transportation and access to vital services. Its worsening state threatens their well-being and economic stability.
The people of Tonko Limba, Bramaia, and Khonimakha are urgently calling on the government to intervene. Without immediate action, the road’s condition will continue to deteriorate, making travel treacherous and forcing drivers to abandon the route. This could lead to increased isolation for these communities, severely impacting trade, healthcare access, and daily commuting.
Furthermore, the residents appeal to the government to expedite efforts to rehabilitate the road leading from Kambia to these chiefdoms. They emphasize the urgency of the situation, recognizing that timely intervention is essential to prevent further damage and ensure safe passage, especially with the impending rainy season.
We seek the government’s support in safeguarding our beloved chiefdoms of Tonko Limba, Bramaia, and Khonimakha by facilitating seamless travel for residents and goods. We implore the relevant authorities to prioritize this critical issue to prevent isolation, promote economic growth, and enhance the well-being of the affected communities.
This road is not just a link between these chiefdoms; it is also a crucial connection between Sierra Leone and Guinea. Addressing its deteriorating condition will benefit not only the local communities but also the broader regional trade and transportation network.
It is our sincere hope that the government will heed the people’s plea and take swift action to resolve this pressing issue that has plagued Tonko Limba, Bramaia, and Khonimakha Chiefdoms for far too long.
