A case that has so far escaped widespread public attention is unfolding before Magistrate Briama Samura of the Pademba Road Court No. 8, where two men stand accused in what prosecutors describe as a conspiracy to commit murder. Thirty-eight-year-old Mohamed Jabity, an accountant and engineer at Kaingo, Lumley, and 24-year-old Samuel Mossima were arrested and charged with conspiracy contrary to law.
According to the particulars of offence, the two men allegedly conspired with unknown individuals on Sunday, 21 September 2025, at Engine, Kaingo, Lumley in Freetown to commit murder.
They also face a second count of murder, contrary to Section 1 of the Offences Against the Person Act and the Death Penalty Act 2021 (Act No. 6 of 2022). Prosecutors say Jabity and Mossima murdered Kelly Kamara on the same date and location.
The prosecution team, led by ASP Ibrahim, appeared alongside P.T. Koroma and Juliana Jusu, while the defence team comprised D. Kaindeh, P. Koroma, M. Massaquoi, and A. Samba. The matter was adjourned after the defence indicated it would file an application. Prosecutors noted they had sought only a two-week notice from Officer Moses Ferenkeh, who was absent during Monday’s proceedings. Magistrate Samura subsequently adjourned the case to 26 November 2025 for committal.
Meanwhile the prosecution has extended service to allow the defence to file its application for two prosecution witnesses to testify and be cross-examined before the committal hearing.
