The Honourable Vice President of the Republic of Sierra Leone, Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh, has applauded Pee Cee and Sons for their outstanding contributions to the development of the nation through large-scale agricultural initiatives. The Vice President made this statement during a visit to the company’s onion farm in Lokomasama, Port Loko District.
“I want to congratulate Pee Cee Holdings Ltd on the historic signing of a $12 million loan facility with the International Finance Corporation (IFC),” he stated. “This investment marks a critical milestone for the country’s agricultural sector and demonstrates the private sector’s increasing commitment to food self-sufficiency and economic transformation.”

The Vice President explained that the facility is designed to support Pee Cee and Sons’ agribusiness operations, particularly the large-scale cultivation and commercialization of onions. The 500-hectare project is expected to significantly reduce Sierra Leone’s reliance on onion imports while enhancing food security and boosting local production capacity.
Dr. Jalloh further noted that the onion farming initiative positions Sierra Leone as a potential exporter of onions to neighboring countries, promoting regional trade and increasing foreign exchange earnings. He emphasized that the project aligns perfectly with His Excellency President Julius Maada Bio’s Feed Salone program, which aims to transform Sierra Leone into a food-secure nation through strategic investments in agriculture.
The Vice President commended the Chief Executive Officer of Pee Cee and Sons, Mr. Mahesh Nandwani, for his visionary leadership and dedication to national development. He lauded the company for not only investing in local agriculture but also for generating employment opportunities for hundreds of Sierra Leoneans, especially youth across rural communities.

“Pee Cee and Sons continues to demonstrate strong corporate leadership by growing local, creating jobs, and promoting economic resilience. Their work reflects the true spirit of responsible corporate citizenship,” Dr. Jalloh added.
Over the years, Pee Cee and Sons has consistently supported national development by employing thousands of Sierra Leonean youths and contributing to the socio-economic growth of the country. The company remains committed to fulfilling its corporate social responsibility obligations in accordance with Sierra Leone’s laws and development goals.
The government looks forward to further collaboration with the private sector in achieving sustainable development and economic progress through agriculture.
