The President of the Africa Diaspora Fashion Hub (ADFH) Sierra Leone, Alhaji Mady, has announced an ambitious lineup of activities aimed at positioning Sierra Leone as a leading force in Africaโs fashion and creative industries.
Speaking at a press conference on Friday, 11th September 2026, at his office on Perdemba Road, Alhaji Mady said ADFH began its activities in 2024 with the goal of empowering Sierra Leonean and African fashion talents while promoting creativity, entrepreneurship and global recognition.
He explained that the Africa Diaspora Fashion Hub was established to unite African and Diaspora creativity through fashion and create opportunities for fashion designers, photographers, stylists and creative entrepreneurs.
According to him, the organisationโs vision is to make Sierra Leone a leading force in the African fashion industry by fostering creativity, entrepreneurship and international recognition in the fashion and entertainment sectors.
โWe established the Africa Diaspora Fashion Hub to empower young people, promote creativity and entrepreneurship, and contribute to sustainable development through the fashion and creative industries,โ Alhaji Mady told journalists.
ADFH SL Weekend Experience 2026
A major highlight of the press conference was the announcement of the ADFH SL Weekend Experience 2026, which the ADFH President described as a landmark celebration of creativity, excellence and opportunity.
The weekend experience is designed to bring together fashion professionals, creatives, entrepreneurs, industry leaders and international talents to showcase and strengthen Sierra Leoneโs growing creative economy.
The programme will feature: Professional Master Class at Sikira Lounge on October 10, 2026.
Fashion and Creativity Expo. Networking Cocktail Session. Insightful Panel Discussions.
GIFW 2026 Casting. Vibrant After Party.
According to Alhaji Mady, the major activities will take place on October 11, 2026, at Chapter One, bringing together outstanding and international talents from across Africa and beyond.
He said the event will provide a platform for emerging and established creatives to connect, exchange ideas, develop professional networks and explore new opportunities within the fashion and entertainment industries.
The ADFH President further expressed confidence that the ADFH SL Weekend Experience 2026 will contribute significantly to the growth of Sierra Leoneโs fashion and creative sectors while opening doors for young people to participate in the global creative economy.
He called on stakeholders, creatives, businesses, the media and the public to support the initiative as Sierra Leone seeks greater recognition on the African and international fashion stage
