Sierra Leone’s Chief Minister, David Moinina Sengeh, on Tuesday, 26 May 2026, visited the Orange Digital Center Sierra Leone, where he reaffirmed Government’s commitment to advancing innovation, digital inclusion, and youth empowerment through technology and skills development.
According to Orange Digital Center Sierra Leone, the Chief Minister was warmly received by the Chief Executive Officer of Orange Sierra Leone, Madame Aicha Touré, alongside the Director of Orange Foundation and Orange Digital Center, Madame Annie Wonnie-Katta.
The visit focused on the critical role of innovation and digital education in expanding opportunities for young people and women across the country. During the tour, Chief Minister Sengeh engaged with learners at the innovation hub and later interacted with participants of the Python Programming for Women Programme.
Discussions during the engagement highlighted the growing importance of equipping young people with digital and technological skills to enable them compete and thrive in the evolving digital economy.
Speaking at the event, the Chief Minister reiterated Government’s support for initiatives that promote innovation and widen access to digital opportunities, particularly for women and youth. He emphasized that technology and digital skills development remain central to Sierra Leone’s broader digital transformation agenda.
The visit also underscored the ongoing collaboration between Government institutions and private sector stakeholders in strengthening innovation ecosystems and promoting inclusive technological advancement across Sierra Leone.
