The Co-founder and CEO of FANT Denmark, Cecilia, who is currently visiting Freetown, held a meeting with journalists where she emphasized the significance of her trip to Sierra Leone. She explained that the purpose of her visit is to strengthen the ongoing collaboration between FANT Denmark and its local partner, FANT Sierra Leone.
“It is always a pleasure to work with our partners here in Sierra Leone,” Cecilia said. “Since 2012, we have shared ideas, exchanged cultures, and built a strong partnership. This collaboration has led to regular visits between the two countries—FANT Denmark visiting Sierra Leone, and FANT Sierra Leone visiting Denmark.”
She also highlighted the recent visit of FANT Sierra Leone’s leadership, along with the Executive Director of the National Sports Authority, Dr. Emmanuel Saffa Abdulai, who just returned from a successful trip to Denmark. Cecilia described it as a privilege to work with such committed individuals.
“For us at FANT Denmark, it is important to work with people we know and trust. We are always happy and ready to support our partners in Sierra Leone,” she added.
Cecilia went on to speak about a major initiative they are jointly implementing—the Girls’ Protection Project. “This is a crucial project that we are developing in partnership with FANT Sierra Leone. They bring forward innovative ideas, and we assess these ideas together to find ways of implementing them, including providing financial support where necessary.”
She further noted that both organizations are deeply committed to supporting deprived communities, especially those in Kroo Bay, Susan’s Bay, and other slum areas. “These communities face frequent challenges, such as severe flooding during the rainy season and devastating fires during the dry season. Despite these challenges, we at FANT Denmark have never regretted partnering with FANT Sierra Leone. We believe in them, and we are confident in the strength of our continued collaboration.”
Cecilia concluded by reaffirming FANT Denmark’s dedication to the partnership: “Our relationship with FANT Sierra Leone has always been fruitful. We are proud of what we have achieved together and remain committed to working side by side for the benefit of vulnerable communities in Sierra Leone.
