KaDFA Suspends Assistant Organizing Secretary Indefinitely

The Kambia District Football Association (KaDFA) has indefinitely suspended its Assistant Organizing Secretary, Ibrahim Sorie Kamara, from all KaDFA-related activities with immediate effect.

The suspension, contained in a letter dated October 3, 2026 and signed by KaDFA Secretary General Madam Aminata Tunny, follows an incident during an official meeting convened to select a team to represent Kambia District in Division One.

According to KaDFA, Kamara allegedly interrupted and disrupted the meeting despite repeated appeals from members and representatives of football clubs to allow the proceedings and ballot process to continue.

The Association further alleged that he interfered with the agreed ballot process, resulting in the interruption and eventual stoppage of the selection exercise.

KaDFA also stated that Kamara made allegations of corruption, manipulation and unfairness in the team selection process but did not provide concrete evidence to substantiate the claims.

The Association said his conduct amounted to misconduct, disruption of official proceedings, disrespect for its authority and behaviour inconsistent with the responsibilities expected of a KaDFA official.

KaDFA cited Article XI, Section 28(ii) of its Constitution, which it said empowers the Association to suspend an individual, football club or Chiefdom Football Association for gross misconduct.

The Association also referenced Article VII, Section 18(ii), concerning the termination of executive office where a member is found guilty of serious neglect of duties without substantial reasons.

In addition to the suspension, KaDFA has directed Kamara to return all Association property, assets, documents, equipment and other items allegedly in his possession or control.

The directive specifically includes the KaDFA motorbike, together with related funds or payments provided under a cost-recovery arrangement, as well as relevant documents, records, keys and other accessories.

Kamara has been given 24 hours from receipt of the notice to return the property and account for the complete cost-recovery payment. The Association said the handover should be made to its Bikes Committee and properly documented.

KaDFA warned that failure to comply with the directive could lead to the matter being referred to the appropriate disciplinary committee for further action.

Under the indefinite suspension, Kamara is barred from representing or acting on behalf of KaDFA, participating in KaDFA-related activities as an official, issuing instructions or making decisions on behalf of the Association, and representing KaDFA at Northern West Rural Football Association (NWRFA) or Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) activities.

The Association said the suspension will remain in force until further notice, subject to applicable disciplinary procedures and any review or appeal mechanisms provided under the KaDFA Constitution and relevant football regulations.

KaDFA said it remains committed to discipline, transparency, accountability, fairness and the orderly development of football in Kambia District.

The Association also advised members and officials with concerns about its activities to use the appropriate institutional and disciplinary channels.

Kamara’s response to the allegations was not included in the suspension letter
