Authorities and stakeholders in Mambolo Chiefdom, Constituency 061, Kambia District, have expressed overwhelming confidence in Dr. Ibrahim Bangura’s leadership credentials following what they described as years of observation, engagement, and assessment of his conduct and contributions to the chiefdom.

According to community leaders, Dr. Bangura has consistently demonstrated qualities of integrity, humility, inclusiveness, and commitment to development, earning the trust and admiration of people across political divides.

Stakeholders identified six key areas through which they assessed his leadership qualities: his calm reaction to the distribution of his donations across political party lines, his cordial relationship with leaders from different political backgrounds, his record of avoiding hate speech, his clean track record, his respect for community members, and his development-oriented vision.

Speaking to this reporter, Paramount Chief of Mambolo Chiefdom, P.C. Bai Sherora Lion II, said Dr. Bangura has repeatedly proven himself capable of handling leadership responsibilities.

The Paramount Chief revealed that donations and development support received from Dr. Bangura have been distributed fairly among various stakeholders, including members of the ruling Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP), without any objections from him.

“Dr. Ibrahim Bangura has always demonstrated humility and a genuine commitment to serving the people. We have observed him over the years and have found him to be a leader who promotes unity and development,” the Paramount Chief said.

He noted that the distribution of support across political affiliations was partly intended to observe Dr. Bangura’s reaction and assess his commitment to inclusivity. According to him, Dr. Bangura consistently responded with maturity and understanding, reinforcing the confidence people have in his leadership.

The Paramount Chief further highlighted Dr. Bangura’s contributions to the chiefdom, including entrepreneurship training, agricultural support programmes, microfinance and small business development initiatives, health education campaigns, regular food donations, and seed funding for local beneficiaries.

He said these interventions have positively impacted many residents and demonstrated Dr. Bangura’s commitment to community development.

Community leaders also praised his accessibility and grassroots engagement, describing him as a leader who remains connected to ordinary people.

Mambolo Chiefdom, which has a population of approximately 33,825 people, is represented by four wards 204, 205, 206 and 207 and remains one of the politically vibrant chiefdoms in Kambia District.

During a recent fact-finding visit to the chiefdom, this reporter spoke with several stakeholders, including representatives of the APC, SLPP, National Grand Coalition (NGC), Coalition for Change (C4C), youth groups, and traditional authorities.

Confirming the chiefdom’s inclusive approach, SLPP Constituency Chairman for Constituency 061, Mr. Silla Y. Kargbo, acknowledged receiving support from Dr. Bangura through the Paramount Chief for distribution among SLPP members.

“Dr. Ibrahim Bangura is respected not because of wealth, but because of his leadership qualities and mentorship. He has shown that he cares about people regardless of political affiliation,” Mr. Kargbo said.

He commended both the Paramount Chief for maintaining neutrality and transparency and Dr. Bangura for supporting community welfare without discrimination.

Similarly, Mohamed Suma, a senior member of the National Grand Coalition (NGC) in Mambolo, stated that his party had also benefited from development support linked to Dr. Bangura.

He called on all sons and daughters of the chiefdom to unite in supporting initiatives that promote the development of Mambolo and the wider district.

Representing the Coalition for Change (C4C), Madam Sia Gborie of Ward 205 said members of her party had also benefited from projects and assistance facilitated through the chiefdom.

She noted that despite political differences, residents continue to live as one family and appreciate leaders who demonstrate fairness and commitment to community development.

Stakeholders interviewed during the visit unanimously agreed that Dr. Bangura’s leadership style, development record, and commitment to peace have positioned him as one of the most respected political figures from the chiefdom.

They maintained that his proven ability to work across political and social divides makes him a strong advocate for unity, progress, and national development.
