On November 1, 2024, at the Orange Money Headquarters in Hill Station, Freetown, CEO of Orange Money Sierra Leone, David Samba Murray, alongside Chief Commercial Officer Haffie Haffner and Head of Strategic Marketing and Partnerships Joseph Saffa Tengbeh, unveiled a new business model that reduces the cash-out fee to 1%. This move, prompted by the ongoing economic challenges in Sierra Leone, aims to support customers and help mitigate the effects of high inflation by lowering transaction fees for cash withdrawals.
David Murray emphasized that the rising cost of commodities has led to increased hardship for the people of Sierra Leone, motivating Orange Money to lower the cash-out fee as a way to support its customers. For example, cashing out NLe 1,000 will now incur a fee of only NLe 10, reflecting the new 1% rate.
Orange Money encourages its customers to utilize this updated service, reaffirming its commitment to delivering quality digital mobile money services and prioritizing customer satisfaction. This fee reduction is part of Orange Money’s continued efforts to offer affordable, customer-centric solutions across its product offerings.
