The First Lady of Sierra Leone, Dr. Fatima Maada Bio on 25th September 2026 revealed at the Music Concert, Dinner and Dance organized by the North America Mandingo Women’s Association (NAMWA) that she is very honored to grace the event in spite of her very busy schedule, intimating that she travelled from New York to attend the ceremony because that is where she rightly belongs to be with her people.
The auspicious event took place at Martins Crosswinds 7400 Greenway Center Drive, Greenbelt MD 20770.
According to the First Lady, she loves her tribe and people, that Mandingo is the most colorful tribe and that it is only their culture that would identify them for the next 100 years and stressed the need for their children to inculcate honesty, service and integrity.
“I am proud to be Mandingo, I will not miss such an event. Let’s train our children to know the values of honesty, service and integrity,” she reiterated disclosing, “by the grace of God next year I will invite the President.”
Mrs. Fatima Maada Bio further asserted that she is pleased to be with her people disclosing that Mandingo people are lovely, appealed to them to continue to maintain and promote their culture as well as train their children about their cultural values of service and integrity and congratulated the organization for a job well done.
In his keynote address, the Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Mr. Alpha Sesay revealed that he was delighted to serve in the capacity because he is home with his family, enlightened that Mandingo people are community people who serve people both in America and Sierra Leone financing development projects and their families as demonstrated yearly when they mobilize and serve people both at home and abroad.
He also expressed thanks and appreciation to members of the organization for their invaluable contributions to the development of the country and encouraged them to continue with their values for generations yet unborn reminding them that although they are abroad, they are home due to the services they render.
The Attorney General continued that Mandingo women are not only pretty but carry a lot on their backs and hearts, commended all for the honor bestowed on him and hoped that they could continue with their cherished culture and tradition revealed that he would dance to the melodious Man dingo music of Sekouba Bambino
The well-attended event was graced by Sierra Leone’s Deputy Ambassador in America, the Minister of Youth Affairs, Mr. Ibrahim Sannoh, Dr. Kandeh Yumkella and other dignitaries with special performance by Lady Felicia and children’s of the Mandingo patents in the USA.
Sekouba Bambino in his performance played songs at the event commended the President Dr. Julius Maada Bio and First Lady Fatima Maaka Bio for their invaluable service, commitment and dedication to advance the country.
