On 17 April 2026, the President of the Republic of Sierra Leone, Julius Maada Bio, officially commissioned the new headquarters of the National Telecommunications Commission (NaTCA), marking a significant milestone in the country’s development agenda and digital transformation drive. The President also commended telecommunications service providers Orange Sierra Leone, Africell Sierra Leone, and QCell Sierra Leone for their continued efforts in expanding digital connectivity and improving communication services across the country.
Delivering his remarks, the Director General of NaTCA, Amara Brewah, described the commissioning of the new office as a transformative moment for the telecommunications sector. He highlighted that the modern facility is equipped with state-of-the-art IT and communication systems designed to enhance regulatory efficiency and improve service delivery nationwide. According to him, the new infrastructure will significantly strengthen NaTCA’s ability to regulate the sector effectively, promote digital innovation, and support the government’s vision of building a robust digital economy.
Also speaking at the ceremony, the Honourable Minister of Communication, Technology and Innovation, Haja Salima Bah, emphasized the importance of technological advancement in driving national development.
