Africell CEO Applauds SLRSA’s Fast, Mobile Licensing Drive

The Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Africell Sierra Leone Ltd., Shadi Gerjawi, has commended the Sierra Leone Road Safety Authority (SLRSA) for improving public service delivery through its innovative mobile licensing initiative.

Gerjawi made the statement after the SLRSA’s mobile licensing team visited Africell’s headquarters at Wilberforce Village, where driver’s licences were issued to company drivers and staff on-site.

He praised the Authority’s efficiency, transparency, and innovation, noting that the reforms have significantly boosted public confidence and improved access to services.

“Immediately my information was entered into the system, my licence was printed instantly. The entire process took no more than five minutes,” he said.

Gerjawi further encouraged other institutions to take advantage of the mobile licensing service to ensure their staff licences remain valid and up to date.

Also speaking, the Chief Executive Officer of Afrimoney Sierra Leone, Martison Obeng-Agyei, described the initiative as highly beneficial, as it allows individuals and organizations to access licensing services conveniently without leaving their workplaces.

As part of efforts to enhance service delivery, the SLRSA has expanded its presence across the country and introduced mobile licensing units to reach more people, including those in hard-to-access areas such as mining sites and corporate institutions.

Manager of Licences at the SLRSA, Othaniel Lahai, explained that the initiative is designed to bring services closer to the public, reduce congestion at offices, and improve overall efficiency in the licensing process.
